A Multilingual Book Drive
Thank you for considering purchasing a book(s) or making a monetary donation to the book drive I've organized for Community Action in Washington County Oregon. Community Action does so much for our community and putting on a book drive to help them out has been a dream of mine for years. I'm so excited to finally be doing it, but I need your help. Make a monetary donation or follow the guidelines and suggested links below to make your book purchase(s).
The Why
From Community Action:
Children living in poverty often enter kindergarten lacking the foundational skills needed for learning to read. Early reading experiences in the classroom, home and in child care settings are essential for children to develop these important skills.
Help Community Action to get bilingual books into the hands of young children who need them! We need NEW bilingual books for children aged birth to five years for our Head Start classrooms and to support our network of child care providers all throughout Washington County.
We are seeking NEW books in Spanish, Arabic, Somali, Farsi, Vietnamese, Russian, and English – representative of the diverse languages spoken by children and child care providers in our community.

Book Guidelines Children aged birth – 3 years
• Board Books
• Cloth Books
• Wordless books
• Texture Books
• Farm Books
• First Words books
Book Guidelines Children aged 3 – 5 years
• Books with pictures that help tell the story
• Stories that can be read in 5 – 10 minutes
Please NO USED BOOKS or books that have a media focus such as Disney or othermovie/television theme. Please avoid books with holidays or religious themes.
